Fact or Fiction -
The Utopia conspiracy doesn’t really delve into the background of Elvis however there are a number of well known conspiracies related to Elvis. The Elvis files documentary investigates various aspects that hint into Elvis faking his own death so that he could escape the limelight. Other suggestions are that he was aided by the government (Richard Nixon) as he believed his life was in danger from the mafia. It’s is claimed he was whisked away moments after he ‘supposedly’ died in a black helicopter that landed at the back of Graceland and then quickly took off again shortly after. Other reports are that a waxwork copy was placed in the coffin to throw his fans and his family from finding out the Truth. If this was the case and he really did want to escape, a gem such as a hidden island like Utopia would have been an idea destination!!
So why is he in the book
I thought how surreal that moment would be where Lauren and Sam awaken on the beach to look up and see the face of Elvis looking down at them. To me he had to be the first celebrity character mentioned on the island and I think he fits the story line it the book really well
