- Born June 1922 Died 2006 (Aged 84) - Professor of Physics at Stanford university - Walters Father Dr Otto Meyerhof won the Nobel prize in 1922 for his discovery of the nature and mode of action of the respiratory enzyme
Facts or Fiction…
Is the Cave real and did Dr Meyerhof work there? No, although it is believed that secret bunkers exist in old disused mines in Nevada the Cave is fictional
Is PHG real? It would be incredible if it was but unfortunately not. However telomere elongation which PHG is based on is real which is being looked into as anti-aging by elongating blood cells? Also Human DNA design is being researched with the likes of CRISPR….So maybe it’s not too far away!
So why Dr Meyerhof…
I decided to use Dr Meyerhof as I felt he was a great fit for the story and completely feasible that he could have unknowingly discovered PHG whilst researching other vaccines. This was well underway during the Second World War when there was a real threat of chemical weapons being used by Hitler
